Your movers in Mitte
The hardest place in Berlin to park a lorry
In Mitte the flat is rarely the problem – the street is. Between tram tracks, bus lanes, cycle lanes and delivery restrictions there is often no legal place to stand a 7.5-tonne lorry outside your door. So we secure one before the day, at both addresses. Into, within or out of the district, at a fixed price.
-
Tram tracks
Nothing stands on them, ever. On the streets that have them, the lorry has to go somewhere else.
-
Bus lane
Blocked for a morning is not an option, so the loading point moves – and the carry gets longer unless it is planned.
-
Cycle lane
Increasingly the strip right outside your door. We work out in advance where the lorry can legally stand.
-
Your no-parking zone
Applied for weeks ahead, signed and standing on moving day – the one lane that is yours.
Local knowledge
Courtyard flats, city apartments and office buildings
Moving in Berlin-Mitte starts with checking access: the distance from the loading space to your door, the staircase and any lift restrictions. We use these details to plan the vehicle, team and loading arrangements for your address.
- Mitte & Museumsinsel surroundings – tell us about courtyard access, loading restrictions and the building entrance.
- Wedding & Gesundbrunnen – rear buildings and upper-floor flats can mean longer carrying routes; photos help us assess them.
- Moabit – we check the loading location and whether a temporary no-parking zone is appropriate.
- Tiergarten & Hansaviertel – confirm lift dimensions and any requirements from building management.
- Office moves – agree access times, lift use and the order of work with your team before moving day.
All from one hand
Everything your Mitte move needs
One company, one contact, one fixed price – permits and paperwork included.
Flat & house moves
From a studio in Wedding to a large apartment on the Spree – packed, carried, moved and rebuilt at a fixed price.
No-parking zone
The single most important thing in Mitte. We apply for the zone at both addresses, weeks in advance.
Furniture lift
For Altbau upper floors and pieces that will not turn on a landing, our furniture lift works through the window.
Packing & materials
Our team packs and unpacks, or you order the materials and do it yourself. Boxes delivered beforehand.
Storage in Berlin
Between two contracts, or waiting for a handover? Your things wait in storage and arrive when you do.
Clearance & disposal
Furniture that is not coming with you? Cleared and disposed of responsibly, so the flat goes back empty.
Before we confirm
In Mitte we check the date, not just the flat
A move here can be planned perfectly and still fail because of something happening two streets away. Four things we look at before your date is confirmed – all of it before you book, none of it billed afterwards.
Street closures on your date
Mitte is the government district: demonstrations, state visits and big events close roads at short notice. We check your date and the street before we confirm it.
Delivery time restrictions
Some central streets only allow loading at certain hours. The window goes into the plan, so the team is not standing around waiting for permission.
Concierge & service lift
In newer blocks the move-in slot and the service lift are booked with the management. We arrange it, and the lift is protected before the first box goes in.
Month-end and the 1st
The busiest days in the city, and the hardest to get a lift or a zone for. A week or two of notice makes a real difference here.

From a top-floor Altbau in Wedding to a new apartment by the Spree – we move households across the whole district and all six Ortsteile.

Frequently asked questions
FAQ – Parking, closures & your Mitte move
The key answers about moving in Mitte with Junker Removals – and when you can reach us.
How much does a move in Mitte cost?
The price depends on how much is moving, the floor and whether there is a lift, and above all the access at street level. In the centre a long carry from a legal parking spot can cost more time than the stairs. After a short survey you get one fixed price with no hidden costs.
There is nowhere legal to park a lorry on my street. What do you do?
We arrange it in advance rather than hoping. We apply for a temporary no-parking zone directly outside the building at both addresses, weeks ahead where possible. On streets with tram tracks, a bus lane or a cycle lane along the kerb we work out beforehand where the lorry can legally stand and plan the carry accordingly.
What if my street is closed on moving day?
In Mitte that is a real risk – demonstrations, state visits and large events close roads, sometimes at short notice. We check the street and your date before we confirm it, and if something is announced later we tell you and adjust the plan rather than turning up and improvising.
My building has a concierge and a service lift. Do you handle that?
Yes. In newer blocks the move-in slot and the service lift usually have to be booked with the management or the concierge, and there are often rules about which hours are allowed. We arrange the slot as part of the planning, and the lift and floors get protection put down first.
I live in a Wedding or Moabit Altbau with no lift. Is that a problem?
No – it is everyday work. For upper floors we bring a furniture lift that takes the wardrobe, bed and sofa through the window instead of down a turning stairwell. The stairwell and doorframes are protected before anything is carried.
Do you move within Mitte as well as into and out of it?
All three. We move into Mitte from elsewhere in Berlin or another city, from one address to another within the district – including between Wedding, Moabit and Tiergarten – and out of Mitte to anywhere in Berlin, across Germany or abroad.
How much notice do you need?
The move itself can often happen within the same week, but the no-parking zone and a service-lift slot need lead time – and month-end and the 1st are the busiest days in the city. A week or two of notice makes a central move considerably easier to arrange.
Are my belongings insured, and can you pack and store?
Ask about the applicable liability terms and any additional transport cover before booking. Identify valuable or delicate items so packing and handling can be agreed for your inventory.
