your Berlin move, carefully planned.
Planning a move into, within or out of Tempelhof-Schöneberg? Junker is based in Berlin and coordinates your household move with clear arrangements for both addresses. Your movers in Tempelhof-Schöneberg
A Schöneberg Altbau holds more than it looks
Four rooms with 3.5-metre ceilings are not simply twice a modern two-room flat. Tall wardrobes, full bookshelves, doors wide enough to have made big furniture possible in the first place – the volume here is regularly underestimated, and that is what turns a fixed price into a surprise elsewhere. Not with us: we measure first, then quote.
- Studio, modern build
- 2-room flat
- 3-room Schöneberg Altbau
- 4–5-room Altbau, 3.5 m ceilings
Relative comparison only – no two flats are the same. Your actual volume is measured at the free survey and written into the quote, which is what fixes the price and the size of the truck.
Local knowledge
Grand old Schöneberg, quiet southern Tempelhof
One district, two moving jobs. In the north there are elegant Altbau blocks around the Akazienkiez, the Winterfeldtplatz and the Bayerisches Viertel. In the south there are rows of houses with gardens in Mariendorf, Marienfelde and Lichtenrade. We work both, and plan for what each one does to a moving day.
- High ceilings, no lift – four Altbau floors are taller than four modern ones. The furniture lift saves the stairwell and the day.
- Listed stairwells & old parquet – protection goes down before the first box, not after the first mark.
- Market days & busy squares – around the Winterfeldtplatz parking gets even tighter; the no-parking zone is applied for well ahead.
- The Rote Insel – hemmed in by railway lines, so the way in matters more than the distance.
- Houses in the south – cellar, shed and garden counted in from the start, and room to park at the door.
All from one hand
Everything your Tempelhof-Schöneberg move needs
One company, one contact, one fixed price – whether it is a five-room Altbau or a house with a garden.
Flat & house moves
From a two-room near the Akazienstraße to a house in Lichtenrade – packed, carried, moved and rebuilt at a fixed price.
Furniture assembly
Tall wardrobes and shelving dismantled at the old flat and reassembled at the new one – ready to use the same day.
Furniture lift
For high Altbau floors and pieces that will not turn on a landing, our furniture lift works through the window.
No-parking zone
Applied for at both addresses well ahead – and around busy squares that is what keeps the carry short. More on zones.
Packing & materials
Our team packs and unpacks, or you order the materials and do it yourself. Boxes delivered beforehand.
Storage & clearance
Dates not lining up? Storage in Berlin. Furniture staying behind? Cleared and disposed of responsibly.
Tall furniture
The wardrobe is the real question
In flats like these the heavy pieces are also the tall ones, and tall furniture asks two questions long before moving day. We settle both at the survey – in writing, before you book.
Will it fit the new flat at all?
A wardrobe built for a 3.5-metre room does not always go into a modern one. Measure the new ceiling before moving day – it is the single most useful thing you can do, and it costs nothing.
Will it get out of the old one?
Tall, rigid pieces have to turn on a landing. At the survey we decide which ones come apart and which go out through the window, so nobody is deciding that with a wardrobe in their hands.
Dismantled and rebuilt, not left in pieces
What we take apart, we put back together at the new address and stand where you want it – the same day, ready to use.
Mirrors, glass and the fragile things
Wrapped individually, edges protected, carried by hand rather than stacked, and secured against shifting in the vehicle.
Not sure whether something will fit? Tell us at the survey and we will say honestly whether it is worth taking, adapting or leaving behind – before you pay to move it twice.

Frequently asked questions
FAQ – Volume, tall furniture & your Tempelhof-Schöneberg move
The key answers about moving in Tempelhof-Schöneberg with Junker Removals – and when you can reach us.
How much does a move in Tempelhof-Schöneberg cost?
The price depends on the volume, the floor and whether there is a lift, and the access at both ends. In Schöneberg the volume is the part people underestimate – a large Altbau flat with high ceilings holds considerably more than a modern flat with the same number of rooms. We measure it at the free survey and then give you one fixed price with no hidden costs.
How do you work out the volume?
We assess the inventory and access room by room, on site or by video where suitable. Tell us about valuable or unusually large items. The written quote defines the agreed work; ask separately about liability terms and additional cover.
My wardrobe was built for a 3.5-metre room. Will it fit the new flat?
Measure the new ceiling before moving day – it is the most useful five minutes you can spend. If it does not fit, we say so at the survey and tell you honestly whether the piece is worth adapting, storing or leaving behind – rather than moving it twice.
Can you get tall furniture out of a high Altbau flat?
Yes. Tall, rigid pieces either come apart or go out through the window on the furniture lift – and we decide which at the survey rather than on the landing. Whatever we dismantle we reassemble at the new address the same day, and the stairwell is protected first.
Parking around Winterfeldtplatz and the Akazienkiez is impossible. What do you do?
We apply for a temporary no-parking zone directly outside the building at both addresses, well ahead of the date. Around busy squares and on market days the street is even tighter – which is exactly why this is arranged in advance rather than on the morning.
Do you move houses in Mariendorf, Marienfelde and Lichtenrade?
Yes. The south of the district is rows of houses with gardens – which usually means a cellar, a shed and garden things on top of the rooms. All of it is counted at the survey, and there is normally room to park right at the door.
Do you move within the district as well as into and out of it?
All three. We move into Tempelhof-Schöneberg from elsewhere in Berlin or another city, from one address to another within the district, and out of it to anywhere in Berlin, across Germany or abroad.
Are my belongings insured, and can you pack and store?
Ask about the applicable liability terms and any additional transport cover before booking. Identify valuable or delicate items so packing and handling can be agreed for your inventory.
